Did you know that this game allows you to 'homebrew' your units into your liking? The construct you witnessed before was an example of that. Oh wait, you don't have the tool for creating your own units. Too bad, since you can only rely on what you can find within the Hall…
The Chessmaster
Here's a brief info about the units Chessmaster would use in the entire rounds of his match, which he dubbed as “Chesspieces”.
Coming soon.

“One of the units Chessmaster uses in his game of chess. A derived product of the venerable Golem, this unit employs destructive force and resilience that may give even the strongest lineup of Chessmaster's opponent a hard time.”
HP Pool: high | Phy. Res: medium | Mag. Res: medium | STR: high | INT: high | AGI: high
A big daddy in form of animate rock. The golem deals either splash damage with its fist or a laser beam to its targets in a straight line. In 50% chance, in even turns it may perform Pulverize, dealing splash damage to target and enemies around its target as well as creating an impassable hole on the spot for 2 turns. May retaliate with a normal attack if it takes more than 80 damage per turn, or with Cratermaker when its HP reaches 25% (also in 75% HP in hard mode). When its HP reaches below 10% and still alive, it launches a Tremor strike, dealing massive damage to all enemies in front of it.
A big daddy in form of animate rock. Capable of wrecking enemies in the frontline with its splash damage or a beam of destruction straight ahead. In 50% chance, in even turns it may perform Pulverize, dealing splash damage to target and enemies around its target as well as creating an impassable hole on the spot for 2 turns. When its HP reaches below 10% and still alive, it launches a Tremor strike, dealing massive damage to all enemies in front of it.
“One of units Chessmaster uses in his game of chess. Spliced product of corrupted golems found in the deepest well in The Rift, this version of the unit has the best Constructs had to offer. A definite ace in the hole that Chessmaster might employ in decisive matches.”
HP Pool: high | Phy. Res: high | Mag. Res: high | STR: high | INT: high | AGI: high
Just like regular Rook but with more twists. The golem deals either splash damage with its fist or a laser beam to its targets in a straight line. In 50% chance, in even turns it may perform Pulverize, dealing splash damage to target and enemies around its target as well as creating an impassable hole on the spot for 2 turns. May retaliate with a damaging/healing Radiant Shock move if it takes more than 120 damage per turn, or with Cratermaker when its HP reaches 25% (also in 75% HP in hard mode). When its HP reaches below 10% and still alive, it launches Tremor strike, dealing massive damage to all enemies in front of it.
A souped-up Rook focusing on utilities and punishing its attackers with great impunity. It loses the ability of normal attack and straight beam attack; in return, it gains a Radiant Shock counterattack that moderately heals allies and damages enemies. Radiant Shock can be triggered if it takes more than 50 damage per turn. In place of Tremor, it uses the lesser-damaging Cratermaker that can be triggered when its HP reaches 75%, 50% and 25% respectively.
“The ultimate piece the Chessmaster has ever fabricated. It has the power of summoning chess pieces that are below its rank, and as long as its allied pieces are standing still, it's virtually indestructible.”
HP Pool: ??? | Phy. Res: ??? | Mag. Res: ??? | STR: ??? | INT: ??? | AGI: ???
The piece that rules them all. Its attack pattern is unconventional as it launches two beams of light at two random spots, dealing plain, moderate damage to enemies struck by it. At turn 1, it summons three Pawns to assist itself against its adversaries. If all of its allied pieces are defeated, it'll summon other pieces in a particular order: two Knight pieces, two Bishop pieces, and two Rook pieces. As long as there's at least one allied piece present in battle, it gains about 80-90% damage reduction bonus.
