Lore

Once an aspiring adventurer registered in Hunter’s Guild, Hana’s life changed when she entered the infamous Faleon Grove for an accomplishment of her trial. Got herself ensnared in a goblin trap, her career would end abruptly in goblin’s den if it wasn’t for the senior town guard to stumble upon the grove and pick up her yelp of predicament. Amazed by the old man’s fortitude when he must protect her against a horde of nasty green buggers, she begged for a mentorship from him once she broke free of the trap. The town guard reluctantly accepted her request, in which her career path shifted from hunter to town guard.

Initially, her training started from basic swordsmanship and accompanying other guards on duty shifts; such mundane activities for cadets and novice guards like her. The direct mentorship from the senior town guard who saved her earlier didn’t help either in improving her capabilities to function well as a town guard, as he was often gone in any given moment, forcing her to learn most of the training on her own. Despite this, her burning passion of being like her mentor was never snuffed out–she refined her sword techniques, learned Solstician Runic arts as well as their history, even she began dressing like him and commissioned a blacksmith from Warriors’ Village for a blade that resembles the fabled Mournblade; all in order to replicate what the renowned town guard was capable of.

To test her own capabilities, she challenged the town guard in a duel in which she asked him to go on with all his might. After several attempts of persuasion, he finally accepted the duel that would be held in the Guard Union’s proving ground a few days later. On the day they’ve agreed upon, at the Union’s proving ground, they both met each other with their swords drawn–they’ve come for more than a duel. At the first few rounds, the mentor was reluctant in dealing with the young aspiring guardian until the well-prepared Hana began launching several hard-hitting blows–few of those managed to connect to his limbs, limiting his movements. Learned that she was not holding back, he then untapped his full might and launched a strike on her; a devastating strike so powerful it caused a quake around the proving ground, shattering Hana’s blade and apparel, knocking her unconscious in the process.

Days after the duel, Hana regained consciousness, found herself lying on her bed and her mentor at the far side of the room. Despite her loss, she was commended by him for her skills she demonstrated in their duel, and for that he decided to give her a proper, intense mentoring with few conditions. Joy and bereft were felt by her at the same time, and without a doubt she expressed her gratitude to the mentor and accepted the conditions he mentioned for the mentoring, whatever those were.

The thrilling adventurer’s life had become like a fever dream for Hana, although sometimes she found herself longing for such thrill amidst mundane, rather peaceful surroundings around the town of Classburg. However, she didn’t mind delaying such pursuit, for everything her mentor has provided in her mentorship outweighed her long gone desires.
