The successor of the Xan tribe’s sacred tradition, Ai Shen Hua was selected among all the potential candidates from her kinfolk—but not by her own choice. Forced into stormcalling by the elders of the tribe, it was a roll of the dice, despite her age.

Day after day, her training increased in harshness, a terrible feat for a delicate girl like her and before too long, she had enough. She confided in her trusted friend—the foreigner kid who assimilated into the tribe—to escape the commune and see the world beyond the woods and mining shafts. He agreed, and it didn’t take long for them to hatch an escape from the clutches of the tribe and its archaic traditions.

She may have been burdened by the teachings and customs forced on her for years, but even she could appreciate the handiness of her lessons. With a faithful genius at her side, she fears nothing the world could present—and just maybe… she will answer with thunderous applause.

  * Ashen's original occupation was a "gifted spellcaster" with capabilities of casting three elemental spells: wind, fire and thunder. Her occupation is changed to Stormcaller in Archivist's Curse for thematic reasons.
    * Her Archivist's Curse version focuses more on Wind and thuunder spells, omitting fire spells altogether.
  * All of her spell names are anagram of the spells' names in Bahasa Indonesia
    * Naign Maptol = Angin Lompat (TL: Leaping Wind)
